Dallas Children's Advocacy Center

I am super proud to be involved again this year in the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center's Art and Advocacy fund raiser! I will be donating a major piece and ask those of you who have original work you are proud to show, to please consider participating too! Several of us did last year and it was truly rewarding!

Creativity is heating up at The Encaustic Center! Bonny and Deanna invite you to exhibit your fabulous small works of waxy art for the summer show. Our goal is to exhibit at least 100 pieces of affordable encaustic art. Open to all artists who use wax in their work.

Grand Opening!

The Grand Opening Celebration of The Encaustic Center was a huge success! The place was packed and everyone seemed to have a great time.

Thanks so much to everyone who helped out:
Lydia, Ron, Annette, Heidi, Teri, Patty, Ivonne, and many more who brought food and wine.
Ralph, Suzanne, Hayley, Alex and Ray for set up and take down.
Matt and Joshua for the great music!
And to TexasWAX members Junanne Peck, Michelle Pryor, Karen Chaussabel, Brett Dyer, Silvia Thornton, Cheryl McClure, and VET, for doing encaustic painting demos throughout the evening.

These photos are still sort of the "setting up" stage, but you get an idea of the space...

We have two stations on the left side with some work tables in the middle. This is looking toward the front windows.

Bonny had a workshop with 7 students last weekend, and I think she got all the electrical issues worked out. Encaustic can be tough on the electrical system!

Deanna Wood and Bonny Leibowitz are proud to announce the opening of The Encaustic Center in Richardson, Texas. Our focus is sharing the beautiful art of painting with wax in all of its various forms.

The Encaustic Center offers beginner and intermediate workshops and studio workdays along with special events such as demonstrations, exhibitions, guest artists, supplies and our big Grand Opening May 15th!

If you're in the area, I hope you can make it to the Grand Opening on May 15, 7-10 pm. There will be artists from TexasWAX/Dallas doing encaustic demos, music, and more.
